Closet Talk: Reverend Jo’s Story: Faith and Sexuality.

After dealing with a few technical difficulties on last night’s Closet Talk, Reverend Jo, an out and proud lesbian, and I finally had a chance to talk about faith, sexuality and her own coming out after an unhappy marriage. We discussed her religious beliefs and her own spiritual path as well as the path being followed by those that use religion as a means of downgrading the LGBTQ Community.

I also finally had the opportunity to ask someone in the faith community: why is it that religion generally cannot distinguish between “belief” and “truth?”

LGBT Lessons for Straight People: Hate is a Four Letter Word.

This morning in the shower I was debating what to blog about next. Jay blogs quite a bit about hate and I feel that I simply cannot write about this topic as eloquently as he does.

Then it occurred to me. I don’t have to be as eloquent. I just have to be me. My theme was going to be “How to go from Hate to Heart… just add an R for Reason.” As in being reasonable. So this evening, as I often do, I checked the news to see what is going on the world. That was when I realized, hate cannot be reasoned with. Why? Let’s see what happened today. Just today. After all, my other blog is called “It is Always Today”.
