Stupid Things People Say About Gays »

I never thought I’d be posting a Stupid Things People Say About Gays based upon comments made by… well… gays!!! The lack of information our own people have regarding their rights and gay stereotypes shocks me beyond measure.

A 44 year old Bolingbrook, IL man was charged with aggravated battery and a hate crime after beating up a 15 year old boy while making derogatory remarks about the juveniles sexuality. The boy, who had apparently gone to the house to visit a friend, refused medical treatment; however, he did report the assault to his mother who contacted the police.

lack of support in the first push to add a same-gender marriage ban to Indiana’s constitution makes no difference to the right in their efforts to deny homosexuals equal legal protection. The first proposed amendment was largely criticized for potentially denying domestic partnership benefits to same-gender couples that would otherwise be permitted by their employer. As if to say, “O.k… so we will give gays those rights, but not any more,” the legislature is at it again – this time in a shockingly bipartisan push.

After my last post describing my adventures in downtown San Antonio while attempting to gather signatures to the Open Letter to Obama, I took to the streets again. It was about 10:30 p.m. when I, along with three others, pulled into the parking lot near a local gay bar. I found a way which we, the LGBT community can hit the companies in their wallets by making them pay us, the gay bloggers, and google. Most ads are pay for impression or pay per click type ads. Therefore, I decided we as a community should actively seek out these ads online, particularly ads placed on LGBT friendly websites that are from discriminatory companies and get click happy with them. Each time an LGBT person clicks on these ads, the advertiser has to pay for that click – in same cases I get $0.36 for a click – Google takes a portion too. The click thus costs at least $0.36. Now imagine we get click happy… click click click 100, 200, 300 times amongst many many people – we could cost them a small fortune. It costs us a little time, but we take from their advertising budget and give the money to those people they are preaching against (LGBT bloggers). We can clean up their “blood money”.
